about

Based in Surrey, England, Camila is an artist and educator with a passion for bringing art-making to all. After studying Fine Art and Art History, she spent 8 years teaching drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture and other media to secondary school students. Throughout the years, she has taught young people, special needs and adults in various contexts including summer art programmes, community workshops, and artist residencies locally and abroad (France and Italy). Her freelance work includes teaching workshops, working with schools & galleries, and organising community arts initiatives.

Integral to her teaching, she has always maintained her art practice which includes collage, printmaking, installation, artist books, performance and sculpture. Camila’s work explores space, movement, form, surface and colour. Her paper-based works and steel sculptures demonstrate a fascination with the possibilities of experimenting with sheet material. Drawing on her background in dance, her books and performances reflect her interest in motion of the body, language and rhythm.
